The 1953 Alfa Romeo 1900 C Sprint is a true classic in the world of vintage cars, renowned for its sleek styling, impressive performance, and technological innovation. The 1900 C Sprint represented a new era of high-performance sports cars that were designed to cater to the most discerning driving enthusiasts.

One of the most striking features of this 1900 C Sprint is its elegant and aerodynamic bodywork, which was designed by Pininfarina, one of the most prestigious names in Italian automotive design. The car's flowing lines, long hood, and distinctive grille give it a sense of grace and poise that is unmistakably Italian. The coupe really captured the hearts of enthusiasts.

Under the hood, the 1900 C Sprint was powered by a 1.9-liter inline-four engine that produced around 100 horsepower. This may not sound like much by modern standards, but it was a significant amount of power for a car of this era. The engine featured an overhead camshaft and twin carburetors, and was mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. This powertrain gave the 1900 C Sprint a top speed of around 180 kmh, which was impressive for a car of its time.

The 1900 C Sprint was also notable for its advanced engineering, which included a unitized body construction that was designed to improve the car's stiffness and handling. The car's suspension system featured double wishbones at the front and a live rear axle with coil springs, which gave it a comfortable ride and responsive handling.

The 1900 C was performing admirably in Italian Sports Car Championship races. In any iteration, the 1900 is considered one of Alfa Romeo’s most collectable models, which powered multiple competition victories.

Today, the 1953 Alfa Romeo 1900 C Sprint remains a highly sought-after classic car, valued for its beauty, performance, and rarity. Although only a limited number of Sprints were produced, their impact on the automotive world was significant, paving the way for a new generation of high-performance sports cars that would come to define the golden age of Italian automotive design. If you're a fan of vintage cars, the 1900 C Sprint is a true masterpiece that deserves to be appreciated and admired for generations to come.

This late Series I 1900C benefits from a long life in Italian ownership. As demonstrated by numerous Auto Club d’Italia registrations (Estratto Cronologico) on file, chassis no. 01422 received a Certificate of Origin in late September 1953 and shortly thereafter entered a multi-decade chain of Italian owners. The car has previously competed in the Mille Miglia Storica and has spent the last four years of its life with an owner in Brescia. During this time the 1900C was restored and repainted in Rosso Matador and fitted with a new beige interior with dark brown piping. It is important to note that this car is fitted with a non-original but correct Tipo 1308 engine and is also accompanied by an unrestored spare original engine block. This beautiful Pinin Farina coupe would make a stunning complement to any sporting collection.

The recent complete service included this work:

- the original exhaust (very rare) was restored and it has a beautiful sound
- the shifter was fixed (new nicasil bushings)
- new spark plugs, fluids
- brakes repaired
- rebuilt starter
- repair of broken driver's door lock

The car is in really great condition now, completely ready to go.
