Unveiling a Classic: The BMW 3.0 CSi
In the annals of automotive history, certain vehicles stand out not just for their performance or luxury, but for encapsulating a unique moment in time. The BMW 3.0 CSi is one such classic, representing the zenith of BMW's "New Six" era and embodying the ethos of 1970s automotive design and engineering.

A Fusion of Elegance and Power
The 3.0 CSi, a coupe variant of the BMW E9 series, was introduced in 1971 as an evolution of the preceding 2800 CS model. However, it was the 1973 model year that truly cemented its place in automotive lore. The CSi was a perfect fusion of elegance and power, with its sleek lines, luxurious interior, and formidable performance under the hood.

Exterior Design
From the outside, the 3.0 CSi exudes timeless elegance. Its long hood, short deck profile is classic coupe design at its finest, while its clean lines and subtle curves give it a refined yet muscular presence on the road. The iconic BMW kidney grille sits proudly at the front, flanked by quad headlights that give the car an unmistakable presence, even in a sea of automobiles.

Interior Luxury
Inside the cabin, the 3.0 CSi offers a level of luxury and comfort that was unparalleled in its time. Plush leather upholstery, rich wood trim, and attention to detail in every aspect of the interior create an ambiance of refinement and sophistication. The driver-focused cockpit features ergonomic controls and instrumentation, putting everything the driver needs right at their fingertips.

Engineering Excellence
Beneath its stylish exterior, the 3.0 CSi boasts engineering excellence that was ahead of its time. Powering the CSi is a 3.0-liter inline-six engine, equipped with Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection, delivering a potent combination of power and efficiency. With around 200 horsepower on tap, the CSi was capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 kmh in just over seven seconds, an impressive feat for its era.

Driving Dynamics
But the 3.0 CSi wasn't just about straight-line speed; it was also a joy to drive on winding roads. Thanks to its finely tuned suspension, precise steering, and well-balanced chassis, the CSi offered a dynamic driving experience that enthusiasts still rave about today. Whether cruising on the highway or carving through mountain passes, the CSi provided a level of engagement and excitement that few cars of its time could match.

Legacy and Collectibility
Today, the 1973 BMW 3.0 CSi is a highly sought-after collectible, prized by enthusiasts and collectors alike for its timeless design, engineering prowess, and historical significance. Well-preserved examples command top dollar at auctions, with enthusiasts willing to pay a premium for the privilege of owning a piece of automotive history.

In conclusion, the 1973 BMW 3.0 CSi stands as a testament to BMW's commitment to excellence and innovation. With its elegant design, luxurious interior, and exhilarating performance, it remains an icon of 1970s automotive design and engineering, a true classic that continues to captivate enthusiasts around the world.

History of the BMW 3.0 CSI -SSC-576 offered here
This BMW E9 3.0 CSI was produced on 07.05.1973 and delivered to the BMW dealer Kuckertz & Muche in Düren on 09.05.1973. The first owner registered this CSI in Holland on 16.05.1973. Mr. "VIP" acquired this BMW E9 on 20.02.1997 and only sold it again after almost 20 years on 31.01.2017. This coupé was then decommissioned.
This BMW was restored between 2020 and 2023. To everyone's surprise, it was discovered during the complete disassembly of this E9 that very little sheet metal & welding work had to be done. The previous owners took great care of this CSI and always maintained it carefully. After restoration, the car was repainted in its original colour "Fjord-metallic". The matching engine was also completely dismantled and simply fitted with new piston rings using the very good original pistons. The original 4-speed gearbox was also completely dismantled and overhauled. Brakes and chassis, as well as electrics and all engine ancillaries have also been overhauled or replaced. The seats have been re-upholstered and re-covered with blue velour. The carpet, all rubbers, seals and hoses are new. The windows have also been replaced except for the rear window. The Mahle aluminium rims have been refurbished and the tyres are of course new.

This car still needs to be run in according to factory specifications. This BMW currently still has its original Dutch registration documents.

Please note:
The original speedometer stands at 12.678 km. After the restoration work has been completed, this CSi starts its new 2nd life. It is offered with a guarantee of 1 year for all work carried out. The basic prerequisite is that all upcoming service work is carried out by the seller's service or a service partner selected by him.
The toolbox has been refilled, the spare wheel fitted, an operating manual is available and a detailed restoration manual is being prepared in which all steps of the overhaul are comprehensively summarised.
