The Ferrari Turbo story began in the year 1980, when Ferrari introduced a two liter version of the 308 model, the 208. They were supposed to be introduced mainly for the domestic Italian market, where new cars with engines above 2 liters were subjected to a much higher VAT: 38 % instead of the standard 18 %.

But the car had only 155 horse powers, too “weak” for a Ferrari. But because turbo-charging had taken a strong foothold in Formula 1 racing, the experience gained on the tracks soon made the leap to production of the 208 with the 208 GTB Turbo, unveiled at the 1982 Turin Motor Show. The 1.991 ccm V8 was given a considerable injection of power that radically transformed its whole character, lending the kind of superb acceleration normally unthinkable in a car of this displacement.

The turbo charging system's design was heavily influenced by the contemporary Ferrari 126 C2 Formula One car. Forced induction increased power to 220 PS at 7000 rpm, while torque output increased by 18%. The 208 Turbo was claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.3 seconds, with a top speed of 242 km/h.

Both outside and inside the 208 Turbo was almost identical to the contemporary 308 Quattrovalvole. It could be recognized by NACA ducts in front of the rear wheel well openings and "turbo" badging on the tail and shrouded exhaust pipes. Extra cooling slots were also added to the lower front spoiler, below the radiator grille. In the rear of the car, additional louvers were added to the engine cover and a cooling vent was placed in the center of the rear bumper, splitting it in two. The deep front spoiler and black roof aileron, optional on the 308, were standard equipment on the 208 Turbo.

Production ended in 1985 after 437 GTB Turbo cars were produced. This first series of the Ferrari Turbo production cars ended with a production of a real turbo charged supercar, the Ferrari 288 GTO.

This example is maybe the best one available. As most of the produced cars were red, it is very rare to find an example in another color. Only handful of cars were painted in the silver Argento paint and even rarer is it in the combination with Crema interior with Bordeaux carpets. This stunning combination makes a truly one off.

The car was very well taken care for. It has only 38.811 kilometers on the clock from new with the original service book, regularly serviced at an official Ferrari dealer (most of the life at Ferrari dealer in Nürnberg, Germany). It still has the original service tools or the leather case for the service book. You simply can’t find a better and rarer first Ferrari Turbo production car ever.

Hello, there were some questions about the car coming in to us: The belts were done a year ago. The oil, filters and plugs were done a year ago. Done at Scuderia Praha, the service book and Ferrari maintanance system has all the records. Everything is working perfectly, only the clutch is at ca. 60 % condition, so that will be maybe the only one thing to be done in the next years. The car was regularly serviced prior to the sellers ownership at an official Ferrari dealer in Nürnberg, Germany and under his ownership it still continues to get a regular service, just this time at an official Ferrari dealer in Prague, the Scuderia Praha. So everything, the engine, transmission and other major mechanicals, is in a perfect running order.
